I would like to complete an "Alpha-numeric Cache Name Challenge" and/or an "Alpha-numeric Cacher Name Challenge". But how, for example, how do I search for caches the name of which begin with the letter "X" or the number "8"?

On the challenge cache page you will often find bookmark lists of others' completed challenges. These should give you some of the odd cache names in you area.

Yup.

 

The OP will probably need a statewide database of all available caches (in GSAK) to do this. That is, unless you want to try and duplicate the finds someone else made to complete the challenge. The problem there is that almost anyone's list will include 'out-of-area' caches, and perhaps even caches in other countries!

Of course if the challenge is to only use caches in your state, that won't necessarily be an issue.
