Can't load caches onto etrek20

Suddenly I don't seem to be able to transfer data from the geocaching website to my etrek20 although everything used to work perfectly. A little flashing star shows instead. When i go to Garmin basecamp with the etrek 20 plugged in it shows geocaches and tracking points but when I unplug the gps it says there are no waypoints or geocaches on the gps. I suspect it might have something to do with some upgrades to computer. I have tried disabling the antivirus software which was recently updated but that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated,

I usually just drop GPX files into the GPX folder on my eTrex 20.
