Caches below sea level

Hi,

 

We are going to attend the Brugse Beer III Mega-Event in April, and we plan to cache around Belgium and the Netherlands prior to the event.

Can anyone tell us if there are one, or several, geocaches located below sea level in close proximity to Bruges, Eindhoven or between?

(yes, we want to get the "Head in the grounds"-badge in BadgeGen )

You can find those caches in the polders. These are located close to sea, so you will not find them close to Eindhoven. I suggest you make a Pocket Query of the caches between Cadzand and Hulst in the Netherlands, load them into GSAK and retrieve the altitudes. There are some polders in that area, but I don't know if there are caches hidden in them. Another option is the island where Middelburg is located. In both cases you can take a small detour into the area when traveling to Brugge.

I would take a small detour to Terneuzen or Breskens on the way. Many cities close to water in the coastal provinces are below sea level and at risk of flooding if the dikes ever failed.
