+tandemstoker
I recently lost my Oregon GPS and now use my iphone. I can get the bad elf gps receiver from one of my distributors pretty cheap. Has anyone used it geocaching and is it worth it? I normally cache with either a PN-40 or a Garmin GPSMap 62sc but when I wanted to try Wherigos I paired the BadElf with my iPod Touch. For general caching it's mediocre but does the job, for Wherigos it isn't very good. In my local area the compass doesn't seem to work so it is basically hit or miss about which direction to move to get into a zone. And, it has either locked up or can't find satellites when I am out of the country. I have contacted tech support and nothing has improved the situation. If you have the correct maps loaded or, a WiFi connection it does a reasonable job of tracking your route. Quote Link to comment
