+Oakley Otters
we have recently purchased a dakota 20 gps and for 3 days have attempted to upload talkytoaster maps onto it but with no luck. We have followed the instructions on the talkytoaster website and believe we have done it correctly, sending it directly to the gps then purchased a micro sd card and loaded the map directly onto it which was successful but when we put the sd card in the gps we cannot find the maps, we assume the uploaded maps would be in the map section waiting to be enabled. Please can someone give us some guidance, thanks the oakley otters. Quote Link to comment
tr_s
The map will only load if it is located in a \Garmin folder on the memory card. Do you have the map file put there? The file you downloaded, was it a .IMG ? Quote Link to comment
+firestars
Do you need to use the card? Just install it straight onto the unit. Quote Link to comment
seldom_sn
Do you need to use the card? Just install it straight onto the unit. If there's a problem with a card, you can always re-format it. Cleaning up internal memory errors is more complicated. Quote Link to comment
+Oakley Otters
thanks guys for the feedback, we have finally managed to load the map onto the sd card!! yippie!,the problem was something to do with the garmin file, the only slight issue we have now is. we was going to upload the experimental maps but we are worried it will override the routable/contour one that we have just put on.
