Troubles with my etrex 10

I'm fairly new with geocaching. Got a Garmin etrex 10 for christmas and been having fun with my son getting out there. Now, all of a sudden I seem to be having troubles downloading caches. I go to geochaching.com, find the cache that I would like, find device (no problems) and then write on to GPS and the computer says it's been successful. But for some reason it's no where to be found on my GPS. Any ideas? I'm doing this on a Mac if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Try deleting some o the caches you have found off your garmin. I think you can only download a set number, and once you hit capacity, you won't be able to ad any more even though the computer says it was successful.

Sometimes they are a little outside the range to be included on the list provided in the Geocache or Waypoint lists, at least using the find nearest method. First thing I would do is try the find by name option. After the first few letters are entered you should be in the area of the list. Entering the complete GC# should end up with it on the screen if it is truly there.

 

Not always the problem of course but worth trying, especially if the GPS does not have a lock on satellites. or is GPS off.
