+futurechief Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 It actually took us 8 hours. We (kurtyboy family and futurechief) had plotted and schemed from the minute we heard of its release during the Chattahoochee Valley Cachers Anniversay event. We new it was in the works but now we knew the date. We loaded the bikes on Friday night, templated a PQ, and hit the sack not early enough. Only for caching can I rise at 0400. We loaded refreshments and lunch and hit the road, dropping one truck at what we hoped to be near the final (Rigdon Park) and a second vehicle near Golden Park (mostly likely site for a needed snack). We then headed off to the spot that we could only guess to be the quickest access to the most northern caches. In place by 0600, cpu up and running, emails ready for the publish alerts, geocaching.com set up and ready to hit the submit button for the PQ, gps's plugged in and ready to accept the loads. The alerts came in and a quick check revealed that we had guessed too far south, so we loaded the bikes back up and headed to plan B parking. The parking area was empty, we offloaded the bikes and quickly had FTF on the first caches in minutes. We got FTFs on most, and a few bumps, bruises, scratches along the way. Overall, these cache hides were no "gimmees". Some were easier than others, but all were good hides. We finally got the last smiley and the last stamp and made it to the Visitors Center just in time to claim the FTFinish the RWGT. We recieved our cards and coins, took a quick pic and called it a day. Thanks to all who had a hand in setting this up. I hope there will be more or these. It is like a power run on steroids.
