best way to move my cache

I need to move my cache just a bit, I planted it in an area that's too close to the trail before I had any decent experience. More dog walkers come through than I assumed and someone muggled my box. (It was returned later.)

I know there isn't another cache in the direction I'm thinking of moving it. Maybe 100 feet or so, just deeper into the woods on the opposite side of the trail.

My cache is pretty popular and is visited every nice weekend. It's marked kid friendly, so a lot of junior seekers find it.

What's the most polite way to move it without messing up seekers? Scout out my new location in advance, wait for dusk and move the box right before the park closes?

Or get a second box, hide that in the new location, move the box online and leave both old & new out there for a week before removing the old box?

OR move the cache box and leave a tupperware in the old location with the new coords and a note saying I've moved it?

This is a local park for me, so I don't mind multiple hikes. My main concern as a mom is to not disappoint somebody's grandkid out for an easy find.

You could temporarily disable the cache until you're finished with the moving.

Bad ideas, and completely unnecessary.

You can move the cache and post coordinates for the new location.
