+The A-Team
so my long & lat has a ABC on one and a XYZ on the other.....how do I decrypt it into Numbers?? I'm new to this so any help will be most welcome! thanks It sounds like you've got a "Multi" or "Puzzle/Mystery/Unknown" type cache, and you need to find numbers to replace the letters with. Usually you need to answer some questions or retrieve information from a location to determine what numbers should correspond to the letters. Can you give us the GC code of the cache in question? Also, seeing as you haven't found any caches yet, I'd suggest you stick to "Traditional" type caches for the first bit. They consist of simply navigating to the given set of coordinates and finding the container. No puzzles to solve. Once you've got the hang of it, move on to the more challenging types. +popokiiti
I'm in total agreement with what The A-Team said. In the cache description, it will tell you what you have to do to get those numbers, once you have them, you then navigate to the cache. Stick with the traditional caches first, where the coordinates given are the one to the cache. Start out easy and work your way up. Good luck on your first hunt! Please let us know how you get on, and if you want any other pointers. Quote Link to comment

You should probably save yourself the frustration and try something a little easier to start out with. Quote Link to comment
