+orgate Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Greetings, strange question here but I'm in the military heading to Afghanistan. I have a TB that I'm using to track my travels. My route of flight will take me through a couple of locations between where I am now and where I'll ultimately wind up and I won't be allowed to leave the secured area where there won't be any GC's. Is there an acceptable way to log my personal visit to a geographical location without being able to depart the secure airport area? Thanks for the help! Quote
+Isonzo Karst Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 You could post a note to whatever cache is nearest the airport, and "dip" the TB with that note. A tad funky, in that you've not *quite* been there, but it would get the miles on the TB, which I think is what you're wanting to do. Quote

I personally don't see any OPSEC problems with what you want to do, but you better clear that with you Chain of Command before you leave electronic footprints of your route of travel. Even if they don't see anything wrong with it, they may not like if you do it without clearing it first. Quote
+orgate Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Hadn't thought about the note option, I guess that's what I'll do. Also, good pointer on checking with chain of command... Already taken care of. Thanks for the reminder. Quote
