Seen a couple of these now on a certain website.....Just wondering what the pros think?!?! Im watching some garmins but if i can get a cheap gps that does the job then thats cool beans.....please help me fellow cachers i wanna be well equiped this year (even bought a mini first aid kit for my bag)

So far, we've found 225 caches without a GPS, but one for only £17.99... Can't really say no can I???

Okay, the device has arrived today. It's currently charging up (takes 4 hours apparently), so I'll try it out tomorrow maybe.

 

Anyways, if you follow the instruction sheet, it don't work. About an hour of fiddling, and several tries, I managed to work out how to program it.

 

You can pre program 16 POI's.

 

And although it seems to use WGS84, you have to program it with using the DDD MM SS.SSS format coordinates, but you have to miss off the last 2 digits off, so you're only using DDD MM SS.S

 

It'll only be a guide anyways. I've never used one before on my first 228 finds.

 

After all, less than £20 for a GPS? I've not been robbed.

Anyways, the unit seems to work okay. Even under heavy tree cover, it still had full signal and got us to within 6 meters.
