+TeamBarnesUK
I've had a look around but can't find the answer. Is it OK to place a Geocache in an area that requires an admission charge? Its the sort of area you wouldn't visit unless you were going to pay to go into anyway? Quote Link to comment
+Ant89
If they were not allowed they would not include the "access or parking fee" atribute, it would just be a "parking fee" attribute. as you have to pay do make sure you have permission from whoever manages the land. +BBWolf+3Pigs
Very good point! Thanks so much, right I'm off to place it now then. Wait a second...not so fast! There is the No Commercial Caches guideline. Places like city or state parks, land trusts, etc that charge an admission for entrance but are not-for-profit are OK. Disneyland (or other commercial properties) is not. And as noted by Ant89 you need permission. Pertinent Guideline: # Commercial caches are disallowed. As a general rule, reviewers will not publish cache pages that seem commercial. A commercial cache has one or more of the following characteristics: 1. It requires the finder to go inside a business, interact with employees and/or purchase a product or service. 2. It has overtones of advertising, marketing or promotion. 3. It contains links to businesses, commercial advertisers, charities, political agendas or social agendas. 4. It contains the logo of a business or organization, including non-profit organizations. 5. The name of a business or commercial product is on the cache page. 6. On very rare occasions, Groundspeak makes an exception for a commercial cache. Arrangements are made before placement. If your cache is commercial in any way, please contact Groundspeak for clarification about how to comply with cache listing guidelines. Edited January 14, 2012 by BBWolf+3Pigs Quote Link to comment
