Hi everyone,

I would appreciate help with this. A friend of mine has an explorist gc and used it earlier in the day but now it wont turn on. She has installed brand new batteries but still nothing. Thanks

This may sound like a stupid idea but happened to me once. Do you have the batteries installed properly? Also make sure the little clips in the battery compartment are holding the batteries tightly in place, They do get bent down by taking batteries in and out just take your fingernail and pull them out a little so the batteries have good contact. Good Luck,

Try connecting it to the PC first. I had this problem and I think the new batteries just didn't have enough juice.

There is also a reset button/hole next to that PC connection port.

Good luck!

Mine just turned into a brick also. It was running fine last month and fresh lithiums, the reset button, and a usb power supply did not appear to help today. Wondering if there is a durability issue with these guys. I will do a bit of investigating to see if there is a fix within my skill set as I suspect it is past warranty.

Try to hold menu+up+power at the same time, and see if you can connect to the PC. If you can, delete your GPX file, and it may come back.

That seems to be a fix for "won't boot." Worth a shot?
