+maddicky46
We are trying to find out how to put co-ordinates into our explorist gc. We have been using our phones up to now and are used to putting in co ords as N53 **.*** etc. If we go to tools/settings/navigation the setting for degrees/minutes/settings only gives us the options of entering N53 **.**. Anyone got ideas onto how we can get an accurate co ords and which settings to use here in the UK? Quote Link to comment
+lonepinemax
You go to waypoints, push enter, menu, add waypoint, coordinates, enter, use the joy stick, up & down to change cord numbers, push enter when finished. You can also use the joy stick to highlight and change the name of the waypoint. Quote Link to comment
+DazeDnFamily
I think you can just hit the menu button while on the map screen, and scroll down to "add waypoint". Then you can edit the numbers as noted. Later! Quote Link to comment
+maddicky46
Sorry we haven't explained very well. We know how to get to add waypoint by co-ordinates it is the format of the co-ordinates that is wrong. On the settings list we found how to change type of co-ordinates and have tried some but still we do not know which is the right setting. We are using the co-ordinates from our smart phones and they show N ?? ??.??? ie degrees, minute to 2 digits and seconds to 3 digits and the ones we have found on the magellan in that format are 10k away from were they should be. What are we doing wrong? Quote Link to comment
+maddicky46
Thanks for your help on this one. Typical co ords we are looking for are N53 56.555 and W000 44.678. We think we have found the right setting by selecting deg/min.mmm and EU 1979.Mean. we have not tried it out yet but we can input the numbers as they appear on the groudspeak site. We are in the UK by the way. Thanks again Quote Link to comment

There is a UK community and Forum here: United Kingdom and Ireland You can go over there and ask how they deal with Datums. Quote Link to comment
