+JL_HSTRE
I've seen a number of benchmark disks in my area stamped "Geodetic Control Point" but the datasheet always lists them as some other type such as horizontal control disk. Is "Geodetic Control Point" a type of disk like "survey marker" or "horizontal control disk" or is just a generic stamping? If it matters, I think every "Geodetic Control Point" I've found was placed by the same organization (GCY, Inc - a surveying company). Quote Link to comment
+EdrickV
It seems control point is a more general term for what we'd call benchmarks while horizontal control disk is a specific type of control point. http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/FGCS/BlueBook/pdf/Annex_D.pdf Quote Link to comment
