Beta maps on iPhone

When checking my Geocaching emails on my iPhone I often, naturally, want to view newly published caches immediately - so I click the link in the email.

This opens the listing in Safari, which I read as normal, but then sometimes I want to view a closer map so I can zoom in/out and work out where the cache is (which you often can't do just from the thumbnail map in the listing.)

This brings up Beta maps which on my iPhone does not actually show the icon/location nor does it allow me to revert to the old maps.

Is there any way around this aside from tediously firing up the App and manually searching for the new cache?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Doesn't appear to be a better way of doing it. A work around could be created by GS but would require an overhaul of the main site and the app. So that the main site would detect that your on a mobile device and present you with a mobile version of the site. That version of the site could then offer a direct link that would open the app for you at the in app cache page. But that would kind of hing on weather the iPhone or other smart phone will allow the browser to start up an app.

It already does that. The first time one goes to a GC link from the iPhone one is posed with the question of whether to use the app or Safari, then the question doesn't ever get asked again. I'm sure there is a way to reset the value but I can't find it on the iPhone. Perhaps it is on GC.com. I prefer to have it open in Safari. Early on in the history of the app there were many page formatting issues that made the listing unusable or clumsy. Having the preference set to Safari gives one the option of a different view.
