+Sullest
I just activated a TB last night and already someone has "discovered" it. Can you discover a TB that hasn't even been released yet? Maybe I'm just confused on what it means to discover it - I thought you had to actually spot in somewhere. Quote Link to comment
+mpilchfamily
Delete the log. They just happened upon the tracking number at random saw it was activated and discovered it to add it to the list of coins they have discovered. They are trying, for whatever reason, to pump there discovery numbers. In order to properly discover the TB you would have to some that person the tracking number on it. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
This one? http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3921463 It seems rather odd that someone could have discovered it on August 20th, if you only activated it yesterday. How did this person get the tracking number, in order to post a "discover" log? Have you emailed the person to ask "what's up"? It's completely possible that he input an incorrect tracking number for a travel bug he actually did "discover" in a cache or event somewhere. Mistakes happen. +Sullest
I haven't contacted the person yet, I wanted to make sure I understood the discovery process. I'll delete the log and send him a note in case it's in error. Thanks for your help! Quote Link to comment
+mpilchfamily
I've stumbled across other trackables getting just one didget in the tracking number wrong. May have thought it was the one he saw and logged it for the date he saw it. Quote Link to comment

May have thought it was the one he saw and logged it for the date he saw it. I think the key is the date: August 20th. He attended the Block Party, so might have discovered a whole lot of trackables. One number or letter off and boom...wrong trackable. (Has happened with caches, too.) Quote Link to comment
