+pugeocache
Hi, After using an iPhone 3g, then an iPhone 4 for Geocaching for 5 years! I decided to take my hoby more seriously and buy the right tool for the job instead of using a phone. I love the new found accuracy I get from using my Garmin GPSMAP 62ST but hate the included maps. I have downloaded and tried a few free maps, but nothing compares to the topographic maps included with the official Geocaching app for iPhone. With the maps on the iPhone I can see public footpaths clearly marked (meaning I can plan my route ahead of time) but the included Garmin Maps are nowhere near as detailed. I often also switched to satelite map on the iphone 4 and had good aerial views of GZ and the surrounding areas, this is great when looking for parking etc, but once again from reading reviews online it sounds like I may be dissapointed using Garmins BirdsEye maps. Any help with the best maps to buy and approximate cost (free is nice too ) will be greatly appreciated. Looking for GB/UK/ or even just England at the minute. Thanks going out to Groundspeak for a great site Pugeocache Edited July 5, 2011 by pugeocache Quote Link to comment
