+stonedeal
We are new cachers with just 24 finds todate. Yesterday at Indian Springs State Park in Georgia we found a cache named Medicine Bowl and signed the log. People before us had signed the log thinking it was the official Park geocache (even though it was a plastic container and not a green ammo box with official markings) and wondered why there was not the Park stamp to be found. It was placed very near the official State Park cache (which we found). However, I cannot locate Medicine Bowl on www.geocaching.com website. Any tips? I'd like to log this find -- it would make 25 for us. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+skisidedown
There are other sites which list caches - it could be registered with those. You can read more here. Edited May 14, 2011 by skisidedown Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
It could be an archived Groundspeak cache. Did you see the cache owner's name, or maybe the names of some people who signed the log previously? Was there a GC code on the logbook? Quote Link to comment
+niraD
If it was "very near" another cache, then it could be a cache that someone tried to list, but the listing was denied because it violated the saturation guidelines. Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
at Indian Springs State Park in Georgia we found a cache named Medicine Bowl Georgia State Parks don't allow containers to be placed, except for the special park challenge caches. Maybe the policy's being changed, and that's a new cache waiting to be activated. Until then, it can't be logged at Geocaching.com. There's an easy Multi in that park: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC86DF That's worth doing, since it's one of the rare exceptions. The locked container is in the office.
