laura.j
When searching for geocaches by city, postal code, coordinate, etc the list of all geocaches comes up, and there is an option to click on "Map It" or "Search for Geocaches with Google Maps". Are both of these links the same? Or is the "Map It" map slightly different from the Google Map? Quote Link to comment
mpilchfamily
They are the same as you will see if you click on both. Quote Link to comment
pppingme
The maps themselves are indeed the same, however, several people have noticed discrepancies in the zip code database that each one uses. Quote Link to comment
mpilchfamily
I find that odd since the links that the Google maps and the icon take you to are the same. Both links take you to: http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx with a ? at the end and the appropriate lat and long to the center point of that area. +laura.j
The maps themselves are indeed the same, however, several people have noticed discrepancies in the zip code database that each one uses. That is what I was wondering about, does each link use a different basemap? Would the googlemaps link be slightly more up to date? Quote Link to comment
mpilchfamily
Each link is the same. They use the same map and same database. You are just given 2 different options to get to the map. You have the text link or the icon link. Quote Link to comment
