The picture is not great at all. I took a friend out for his first cache today. We found a local detective had discovered the cache while looking for some evidenced when a nearby gas station was robbed. Rather then taking the cache or something he simply signed it and returned it. Anyone else ever found something like that on a log?

I had a cache called "fork in the road" going out to a lake. The forest ranger found it when he was replacing the sign. He wrote in the log that he ahd heard of geo caching, signed and put it back.

In a small town in Nebraska we hid a film can. My grandma was actually the 'informant' for the sheriff about Geocaching. Here's what the newspaper said:

"Received a report of suspicious circumstances in Stapleton. Upon a tip from Village Officials, investigation led to finding a small capsule hidden in Stapleton. Further investigation showed that the capsule was part of a nationwide geocache "treasure hunt...." The website showed that people from all over the United States had been visiting Stapleton since April of 2005 just to find the object and sign the list. The object was replaced for the next person to find."

I once found a police calling card (business card they leave at places they check out) in one of my caches. Later I saw an officer in her car, so I went over to inquire how to reach the officer and ask about how his card got there. She was able to fill me in. He got a call of a suspicious person putting something in the trees. He found my cache (clear lock-n-lock with geocaching sticker) and took it with him. He called his Sargent to meet him (the officer I approached was the Sargent) and showed her. She knew what geocaching was and told him he needed to put it back because people will be looking for it.
