sailordave
I am planning my family vacation and would like the kids to find/place a travel bug on the way. Is there any way to find a bug near us? Quote Link to comment
+DenaliNW
Just look at the cache list for caches in your area. Those that have bugs in them, will have the Travel Bug Icon next to the title of the cache. By checking out the cache details, for these caches, you will notice another Travel Bug icon in the upper right corner, along with a link to that particular bug's page. Seeing an icon though is no guarantee that the bug is actually there. Some may have been taken earlier in the day before you arrived at the cache, and have not been logged in yet. Others are taken, and never logged in. Finally, you might try something I've seen done in the Northwest forums. Place a note in the forum for your area, letting other cachers know that you are taking a vacation. Offer to help some bugs along for those who may have one or two that they want to hit points further from home. You can then make arrangements with those individual cachers. Just don't forget to log the bugs . . . Quote Link to comment
