+Bergie Bunch
Hello all, I am sure this has been asked before, but here we go. In Me First, you talk about going to the NGS website and downloading the county of choice for GSAK, I can't seem to find the option to download a county, am I missing it? THANKS! +LSUFan
Welcome Bergie Bunch. The NGS changed up their download by county capabilities not too long ago. You can download an entire state there. However, Jim(Holograph) does maintain on his site an updated county download option for each state. You can find it here: http://www.holoscenes.com/special/geocac/ds_archive.html Quote Link to comment
2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
Click here for the NGS page to download the county you want. Select "DATASHEETS", then choose "COUNTY" from the list, choose the "STATE" then click 'get county list' and then select the county you want, click 'get marks'. If it is a large county you will need to select only some of the benchmarks on the list. To do this you click on the first 1 in the list and highlight it. Then you use the arrow on the side of that box to scroll down what is about 1000 benchmarks, hold the shift button and click on a benchmark. This should highlight everything from there back to the top of the list. Click "get datasheets" and this will list all the benchmarks that were highlighted. If you selected more than the allowed number, just select fewer benchmarks and try again. Remember the last 1 you highlighted, so you can select the next 1 on the list if needed, and scroll down another 1000 marks. If it is a small county, just click "select all". Remember, once you click "get datasheets" it will take a little while for the page to load. You then save the 'page as' to you computer. (Go to the 'file' button at the upper left corner of the page and select "Save Page As".) John Quote Link to comment
