Found a cache we weren't looking for!

Today we stumbled upon a cache that we weren't looking for. We did find a trackable. We found the trackable on the site but it wasn't listed where we found it. We also recorded the coordinates for the spot and searched on that and no luck. How do we figure out what cache we found????

Use the Google Maps feature to zoom in on the area. If you don't see it, it may be part of a multi or mystery cache.

Also...If the log was clean, it may not be active yet. If there is log activity, it could have been archived.

You can always grab the trackable with the from somewhere else option.

The cache you found might be a final to a multistage, a final for a mystery, or a cache that was submitted for publication and was rejected for some reason. Or one that was place and just not published yet.

One other thought on the trackable. You say the trackable was listed, but not where you found it. What type of cache was it listed as being in?

Tried to Google Maps option. No luck. This is the traceable link....

Thanks for all the quick info!

It is considered very bad form to publish pictures of coins or bugs with the tracking number showing. Other, not so nice people can play havoc with the coin. Either take down the picture or obscure tracking number. It is okay to refer to the coins or bugs TB number. As an example of what can happen to a bug that has its tracking number exposed take a look at TBKFF4. That little duck was moving all over the place while tucked in my bag.

Might be a good idea to unlog the coordinates too! Sounds like a multi final in the area... very close...

couple of mystery/unknowns in the area as well, close enough, one has a missing micro but I don't think that would be the one...
