Guest glenn95630
that the chance of false logs being made is very small. So small that it isn't worth worrying about. Glenn95630 Quote Link to comment
Guest Mr. Snazz
At least false logs would still be *logs* - its really annoying when people pick up travelbugs but either don't log them, or can't figure out the proper method for logging them. hopefully some day the Groundspeak site will be more clear about exactly what to do. Currently a user must click in a few places and read through the instructions to figure out the process. Imho, the default should be a step-by-step 'log the bug you found' page, which can then be bypassed to the current 'normal' system. Quote Link to comment
Guest CR
In another thread someone is talking about making their own tags and using the info from their travel bug tags. You could do something like make the bug number black with dark red numbers or put it on a field with lots of wavey lines behind it. Something to try and trick a camera in to not recording the numbers correctly. Quote Link to comment

This would be idea. However, most geocaches do not know very much about travel bugs and seem to only become interested if they find one. At least at this stage in the evolution of the travel bug we should do all that we can to help make everything idiot proof. Not because the people we are dealing with are idiots but because a lot of them are underinformed and very new to the idea. Like myself. Quote Link to comment

Guest glenn95630
The point I was trying to make is.. Who cares if the number is public? There have been no reports of false logs. Quote Link to comment
+martinp13
Few people will try to steal your credit card number, but you don't stand on a street corner and hand it out to people, do ya? > Martin (Magellan 330) Don't have time to program and record your shows while geocaching?
