Hello, we are the Stoffers and we are new here. One of us borrowed a GPS a couple of days ago and found some caches, and he came back so excited that we decided to get us a gps of our own. Now, we already looked up some caches and the gps should come the day after tomorrow, but we don't quite understand all the abbreviations here like TB, TFTC, etc. Can someone please put a list together?

Thanks for helping some newbies.

Welcome to the world of geocaching.

TB= Travel Bug. You find an item in the cache that has a "mission" then you track the number on Geocaching.com that you moved the item along. See travel bugs on the GC website.

TFTC= Thanks For The Cache.

TFTF = Thanks For The Find

FTF = First to Find

SL = Signed Log

TNLN = Took Nothing Left Nothing

I hope this gives you a start. Others will probally add more.

At the top of the Getting Started forum, there's a Frequently asked questions thread. That should answer a lot of your questions. If you have more after reading that, feel free to ask again.

Welcome and enjoy!
