Placing a cache in Scotland

Hi,

 

I am up in the highlands till Wednesday 9th June 10 and in the area I am in there are very few caches. A brand new public footpath has opened up close to where I am staying.

 

My questions are.....

 

Will I need to get permission as it will be hidden next to a footpath (in a very hidden spot)

also

Given that I won't be up here again for a few years and won't be able to monitor it or maintain it, would I be wasting my time?

Dont even think about leaving a cache there!

 

If you can't get to it to do required maintenance, as the guidelines say 'within a couple of weeks' how will it be maintained if there's a problem?

 

If you're not local to where you hide it, the reviewers won't even publish it... Then you have to go back to retrieve the geolitter!

It was going to be in the Spean Bridge area but have now moved on to Ireland

You will be in exactly the same situation, in that you will need a Local Maintainer for the cache.
