Dakota 20 & Ordnane survey maps

I am enjoying my Dakota 20 and the OSM map is pretty good... but I am eyeing up the o/s maps of the UK at 1:50,000..

 

Now there have been some firmware updates, are all the reported issues of fuzziness gone, and also what happens if you say buy the CD and upload then lose/break your GPSr - can you activate the mapds onto a replacement? Not that I want to break my GPS, but curious to know...

Before you buy the 1:50,000 check this out for free 1:25,000.

 

There is a limit on how much you can load onto your unit in one go (100 images). I find with the zoom set to 15, I can get around 100 Km^2

Thanks.. I gave it a go for 15 tiles but nothing seemed to download (once I'd installed the software). I think I need to read the instructions more...!
