Need 2 handheld GPS for Cub Scout Group

Recommended Posts

The eTrex are nice and cheap. At times they'll flood the used market. (I picked up a pair for about $40 each in nearly mint condition a year or so ago.) The only drawback I've seen is that some of the newer geocaches use an additional letter in the GCxxxxx name and the eTrex lop off the last letter. That's not a problem unless you have two geocaches with the long name loaded at once -- it only stores the last one entered. I've got all Garmins and those are the ones I trust the younger kids with the most....I give them to my youngest nieces when I take a group out. I have waaaaaaay too many units!

Oh -- I should be more specific -- I mean the simple eTrex -- not the legend, or HC, or anything like that -- just the simple B&W unit.
