+chartmaker
Just got kind of curious as to which geocache may have the most users watching it? Made a comment about a cache today and had a couple of responses back as notes from the cache listing so thought maybe a few others might be interested in this as well and may want to add their comments. A few of the caches mentioned were: GCC859, which is a traveling cache recently disabled; as well as GC2179 another traveling cache. Also mentioned was Canada's first published cache GCBBA but it is well below the numbers of people watching the two traveling caches noted above. Quote Link to comment
+bittsen
The one in the ocean near some thermal vents had quite a few watchers. Quote Link to comment
+addisonbr
I actually somewhat pay attention to this. The only cache I know about with more than 1000 watchers is the ISS cache (GC1BE91) with 1203 as of this posting. Other notable caches with a lot of watchers... The hydrothermal cache (GCG822) has 398. The Washington APE cache has 430 (GC1169). The Brazil one has 229 (GCC67). The Original Stash Plaque (GCGV0P) has 293. The Un-Original Stash (GC92) which is like 70 feet away from that one only has 47. Groundspeak HQ (GCK25B) has 328. The archived cache GCXXXX has 503 watchers. That string used to be a default for when people were prompted to enter the next GC waypoint; if they just clicked the button without typing anything new it would take them to this cache. The CO used to have a link on the cache page that said something like "Look at all the people watching this cache!" that, when clicked, would automatically add the cache to the clicking user's own watchlist. People (especially newer users) who didn't understand what just happened well enough to go back in and delete the cache from their watchlists simply added to the growing totals. Quote Link to comment

Man, you blew his cover. He usually shows up in every similar thread to this one to tell us how many people are watching it. Quote Link to comment
+bene66
Look at this bookmark-list: Watchlist >150 I don't know if it is complete, but it seems that mostly German- and US-Cachers using the watchlist. Even if the criteria for this bookmark-list is only a statistical - it is a list of remarkeble caches. bene66 Quote Link to comment
