If you're writing about another program, it might still be the same issue... Quote Link to comment

SORRY IT IS MAGELLAN MAPSEND REQUIRES THREE CDS I CANT GET PAST 8% ON THE FIRST ONE I USED IT FOR YEARS ON WINDOWS 2000 That might be the problem - there's a way of running the install in Win2K or XP mode. Right click on the Mapsend install file and either select "Troubleshoot compatibility" or go to the Properties/Compatibility tab and run the install in Win XP mode. Quote Link to comment
+TotemLake
When starting the installation, try right clicking on the setup.exe and run as Administrator. Once install is complete, you may need to find the executable that starts the program and right click it to run as administrator. Quote Link to comment

I used the means you suggested this morning on another software that would not open, it worked great. this gives the error-2. error and stops. it does not offer the install file you suggested therefore i cant use this approach. i tried it twice there is nothing to right click on any other suggestions will be appreciated TERMITE22 Quote Link to comment

+fishgeek
Try this: 1. Put the install CD 1 in your CD drive. 2. Click "Open Folder to View Files" from the auto start menu or open Windows Explorer. 3. Find Setup.exe in the main directory of the CD. 4. Right click on it and then left click on "Properties". 5. Click on the "Compatibility" tab. 6. Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box. 7. Select Windows XP from the pulldown menu below the box. 8. Click "OK". 9. Go back to the Setup.exe file and double-click on it. The program should now install. claycope
I came across this forum and topic after searching online for help with installing the MapSend Topo 3D onto my Windows 7 machine. I have used this software for years on my old laptop (windows XP). Anyway, I was able to finally install this after going into the properties, and checking the box to run as administrator. stackton
I also had problems installing but got it to work. now the only problem is no contour lines show up and no 3d option is even present in the program. it looks like the older version before the 3D release. Any suggestions??? Quote Link to comment
