+EricRJones
I have an Oregon 550. I'm using the Northeast Topo United States from GPSFileDepot. In some of my profiles, the water shows up on the map as blue and in the rest of the profiles the water shows up as white. I've tried disabling and enabling different combinations of maps without being able to figure out why. I even reinstalled the maps. If there is some setting that sets the color of the water, I can't find it. It's possible this is a new problem with the latest firmwhere update (which I do have installed), but I can't swear to this. In any event, I can't figure out why it only affects some of the profiles. Anyone have any thoughts? Quote Link to comment
eaparks
Sounds like you have the "Marine Chart Mode" set to "Off" in the Profile where the water is showing as blue. In the profiles where the water is appearing as white the "Marine Chart Mode" is set to "Nautical" or "Fishing" both show water as white. This is how it is done on an OR 400t, I believe the 550 is the same. To change "Main Menu > Setup > Marine > Marine Chart Mode > Off, or Nautical, or Fishing Edited February 1, 2010 by eaparks Quote Link to comment

Anyone have any thoughts? I have seen that behavior too. For me it happens when there is an indian reservation around. There are some lakes that do not even show up because they are all white. It makes no difference if DEM shading is turned on or off. Here is a prime example: Quote Link to comment
