how do i find new caches?

ok i'm very new to this but i think i have gotten the hang of it but what i cant find a way to search for newly placed caches. i'd liek to try to be a ftf but so far all i can search for is by location from my home and so far they have all been there since 2002 2005. is ther a way to be notified of newly placed caches? - thanks

The Groundspeak weekly newsletter is how I find out about new caches in my area. It's not the quickest way to find out, but I'm not an FTF hound.
