+tachoknight Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Hi all- I happened to be walking down Ontario Street towards Michigan Ave in Chicago tonight and discovered a benchmark in the ground. I did a search on Waymarking.com, as well as the benchmark database, and it doesn't seem to be in either place. The picture was taken at night, but you can make out the following text: "Cook County Highway Dept Benchmark". The question I have is ... what now? I read the FAQs about finding benchmarks, but didn't see if there was anything to do if it wasn't found in either Waymarking or the benchmark database. I have included the picture here. I'll try to take another during the daytime. Quote
AZcachemeister Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 You could make a waymark of your own, if you're interested. Certainly you should be a bit proud for noticing something that hundreds of people probably pass be each day and do not. Quote
+Ernmark Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Story update - it made it into the Waymarking database: WM7P62 and there's now a day pic to boot! Quote
