Cachemate Registration

I have just got hold of a second hand Pocket PC.

It's a HP iPAQ rz1710

I have bought and installed Cachemate version 1.3.4. This is working unregistered and showing the 10 Waypoints allowed without registration

Problem is I cant get it to accept the registration code supplied.

When I ordered the cachemate programme

I put in the Model # as HP iPAQ rz1710 I wondered if this was wrong when trying to register it on the PDA hence the non acceptance.

So I asked for a new Registration No. and altered the Model # to rz1710

Still not being accepted.

I have a query in with Smittyware, but no help from them yet. Read also every FAQ on their support site with no results.

Anyone got any ideas ??? Not a very computer savvy person me.

The registration for cachemate is base on the name that is entered in the Owner Information page in settings. The name entered is translated into a code that you give to smitty when you register your device. If you change your name in the owner information, the code will change and registration will no longer work. The code will be the same for pocket pc or smartphone, but the different platforms are require a different unlock code.

Thanks for the help guys.

But would you know it.

Just as I had finished typing and sending the original message for "HELP"

I gave it one more frustrated go, entering the registration No.

"Bingo" Think the machine had had it's fun with me for the day and registered.

All working well now.

Mike
