Motorcycle_Mama
You can use the SMS Gateway for your phone carrier to have the notifications sent to your device as SMS messages. Here's a fairly comprehensive list. http://www.mutube.com/projects/open-email-...s/gateway-list/ Note that the messages are emails not SMS so you will likely get multiple messages per notification and may not receive the entire message via SMS due to truncation on some carriers. If you can receive MMS on your device, that's typically a better option as you can receive 1000 characters in an MMS. Quote Link to comment

+terrkan78
If your phone is capable of checking your Internet e-mail accounts, and if you've got a premium membership with Groundspeak, you can set your Groundspeak "Instant Notifications" to send you an e-mail whenever a new cache is published within a certain area, and then set your phone to beep whenever you get a new e-mail. Motorcycle_Mama
MMS is also known as Picture Messaging on some providers. And it uses a different SMS Gateway. For example on Verizon, the SMS gateway is <your10digitnumber>@vtext.com and the MMS gateway is <your10digitnumber>@vzwpix.com. The easiest way to figure out your MMS and SMS gateway addresses if you don't know them is to send a message from your phone to an emial address. You would need to have Picture Messaging on your account to use the MMS gateway. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
MMS is actually a restricted form of e-mail that "modern" phones are supposed to support. It is a data service, so depending on your plan, you may (or may not) want to use MMS. I worked on MMS systems for the last few years. Quote Link to comment
