Didjerrydo Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 A friend sent me a link: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/99/ that supposedly offers free 1:24,000 topo maps fer almost the entire southeastern US. I've downloaded the zip file, unzipped it and tried everyway I know to get MapSource to recognize them but no cigar. I have all the un-zipped image files in their own directory, and that directory in the C:/ Garmin directory where all the other MapSource image files are located but apparently for some reason MapSource will not recognize them. What am I doing wrong here? Quote
snowfleurys Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) File is not a self-installer version. See 7:20 post. Edited March 30, 2009 by snowfleurys Quote

snowfleurys Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) I had thought I read that the gpsfiledepot made a self-installer for that mapset - that would be as an .exe file. The download says it is a .zip file. To install, you would have to use MapSetToolKit - it will make the appropriate files for MapSource and add the mapset to the registry. If SC is not your interest, all the other southeastern States are available at the gpsfiledepot as seperate state mapsets by other mapauthors. Edited March 30, 2009 by snowfleurys Quote

I would try this one if you are looking for an installer: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/101/ Edited March 30, 2009 by coggins Quote
