3v1L Schwinn Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hiya, I am what you could call a "casual" cacher. I love the sport and really enjoy caching. I am also a runner and have been combining my love of caching and my love of trail running. Recently I purchased a Garmin Forerunner 305 and tried using it for finding a cache a couple weeks ago. Dang it if it didn't take me right to the cache, well actually within about 5 foot of it. I thought it was a fluke so I put in a couple of my previously found caches and it did the something with each and every one I tried. So I going with the Forerunner 305 for my caching although I will still keep my nuvi with me for a back up. So am I the only one using the Forerunner for caching or are there others using it? If so do you know of any utilities that would work with the 305. I am currently looking at the "EasyGPS" utility right now. Quote
+DustyWalker Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I have used my 205 to find caches while out running but generally use my CSx to cache with. Quote

However, I recently got a Colorado 400t because I found that I needed descriptions and logs to make my finds. Quote

I have used the older Forerunner 301, it is not as sensitive as the newer 305 but still I have found about 200 caches with it. And i know about 5 more here in Denmark, who use Forerunners for Geocaching. I found it worked fine, I used EasyGPS for a short period but now I use GSAK, GSAK is a great program. It is also possible to download the coordinates directly from the cache page. Edited September 19, 2008 by Steenh Quote
+Alboy Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Do any of you guys know if I can export and import from a Forerunner 305 and Memory Map (v5.1.3 if it matters) I would love to know if I get a 305 whether I can log my runs in MM (and see heart rate etc) I've been googling like mad with no luck thanks Quote
