+AggieTeam
My 8 year old nephews TB needs some help in New York. His TB, The Shining Star, is in a cache called Kwan Yin's Travels (GCVZ56) but was not successfully "dropped" in the cache by the person who picked it up last. I was unable to explain to them via e-mail how to do it (they've only logged 10 caches so they are pretty new) - I tried - I really did! You can see from the last log (Friskee60) that it was dropped in that cache. Is there any cacher out there who lives near Cortland, NY and could at least pick up this bug and then drop it back in so it shows up on geocaching.com? My nephew would appreciate it. He is in dead last place in our race to the Home of the Aggies (in College Station, TX) and back to the Home of the Aggies (Beal City, MI) so any help getting him back on the right track is apprecaited. +HaLiJuSaPa
Actually, if you have the 6 digit/letter tracking number (on the tag, you should have a duplicate tag), all you have to do is use the tracking number to "grab and drop in" even if you don't live near the site of the cache. Of course it would look more "normal" if someone goes to the cache and does it, but it would correct it and isn't something that admins would remove (they realize many do not log these right). (Yes, my address shows NY but I live a good 200 miles from Cortland, sorry, otherwise I'd actually grab and move it along). Quote Link to comment
+smrich
I will be traveling up to Syracuse, NY in 2 weeks from Central NJ. Fortunately my daughter's college softball team is playing in Cortland on the Saturday and this is nearby to SUNY Cortland. If no local cachers grab the TB out of the cache, then I will try to stop by and grab it. If my plans change between now and then I will let you know. Quote Link to comment
+AggieTeam
Thanks to all the cachers who contacted me about this. The Shining Star was successfully "grabbed" and placed in a new cache - Karson says "thanks". Now, anyone heading South? Quote Link to comment
