+azrunner1 Posted August 26, 2008 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I have the Garmin Oregon. I played the tutorial that was preloaded to my unit. I completed it and got the unlock code. When I tried to upload it gave me an error message. The instructions say the file should be a gws file. Mine is stored as a gwc file. Anyway to correct this, will this happen with other cartridges? Ranger Fox Posted August 26, 2008 Share Posted August 26, 2008 Some cartridges have unlock codes, others have the gws file. The gwc file is the cartridge itself; the gws file contains the game save information. If a cartridge doesn't show an unlock code, chance are you'll need the save file. That said, there are some cartridges that can't be unlocked because the cartridge's author may not have added the code to mark his/her cartridge as unlocked.
