Thanks everyone, next time I will try to get the window seat.

I thought it would be neat to see what my Oregon showed while I was on a recent airplane flight. However I was unable to receive a signal. Does the body of the airplane block the signal? If not what might have been the reason that I could not recieve a signal at cruising altititude? I was on a commercial airliner sitting in the first row. Thanks

I have an Oregon 400t. I hike alot and like to measure my distance. I have reset everything several times, I have kept my GPS off until I am at the trailhead etc. but for some reason my track records always put my start location at my house. My distance totals are never correct. I can't seem to isolate just the trail I am on. Any suggestions I can do? Also I mark my start point at the trailhead as waypoint 001.

Thanks for your help. I wasn't even thinking about using the fitness mode. Usually I am caching during my trail runs and have kept my GPS set in geochache profile. I appreciate the input.

I run and like to track my routes. However everytime I do the track seems to include and show the distance from my house and then my route as well. I can't get an accurate running distance with this happening. My question is : What do I need to undo, do, reset or set so as to only have a track of what I am currently on? I don't turn my gps on until I am at my run location.

I have the Garmin Oregon. I played the tutorial that was preloaded to my unit. I completed it and got the unlock code. When I tried to upload it gave me an error message. The instructions say the file should be a gws file. Mine is stored as a gwc file. Anyway to correct this, will this happen with other cartridges? Thanks

Thank you all for your input. I did download EasyGPS and can now download either the loc or gpx files. I was able to download as geocache all along but I thought the loc and gpx files would show in my waypoint file on my GPS but they show under geocaches as well. Thanks again.

I am confused on what to do. I have an Oregon 400t and Garmin trip and waypoint manager software loaded on my computer. I can download geocaches to my Oregon without problem but cannot load loc or gpx files. What is my missing piece so I can send waypoints to my waypoint manager from my Oregon? Thanks for your help.

Thanks Kevin and Chris, those last tidbits helped me locate my member number. However, the message I get on GSAK is [ERROR[ Setupdienumdeviceinterfaces: no more data. Is the Garmin USB Unit 0 powered up and connected? I have Garmin and USB checked in the setup box.

Hi. I am new to geocaching but have been having alot of fun since I started. I downloaded the GSAK program to get waypoints by pocket queries . I can load them onto my computer no problem. They will show up on the GSAK table but I cannot download them from the GSAK table to my GPS. I get a message that it is not detecting my USB connection to my GPS. I can download caches directily from geocaching.com to my gps using my usb connection and not have any problem. Anyone have any idea what I can do to solve this problem? Also how do I find my geocaching.com i.d. number? The GSAK popup box asks for it before trying to download. Thanks
