The T stands for terrain with the same rating. A terrain rating of 5 would be steep hill perhaps or long distance or lots of bushwhacking. Quote Link to comment

A terrain rating of 5 would be steep hill perhaps or long distance or lots of bushwhacking. it's best to use the clayjar system. at any rate, terrain 5 is generally considered to require special equipment, such as a boat or climbing gear.
