kayakwolf
Today I was searching for a cache when I lost satelite reception. It was probably due to dense tree cover and heavy overcast skies. When my GPS found the satelites the cooridnates were way off. I was previeously at N 42* 25.xxx W 88* 55.xxx in Northern Illinois. When the GPS came back online I was at N44* W82* which was somewhere in the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Even when I was stopped the GPS kept moving down in northerly coordinates and up in westerly coordinates. On the map mode I was zoomed out to the midwest and a line went from the coordinates to the geocach I had found. When i got to the parking lot I turnewd off my unit and rebooted it I went back to the coordinates I was actually located at. The batteries are fully charged. What was going wrong? gallet
Nothing was going wrong, it happens occasionally and as you have found a reboot solves the problem. Cloud cover doesn't affect the gps signal. Quote Link to comment
