What a fantastic sport/hobbie/thing! :)

I stumbled across the Geocache Navigator software for the Nokia N95 earlier today, and having heard vaguely of geocaching in the past, decided on a whim to give it a go. I searched for some semi-local caches and quickly found some that looked easy enough for a first try and they were only a short drive away, so off I went.

 

Took me a little while to get my bearings, and the N95's built-in GPS isn't always the most accurate, often jumping and hesitating over it's current positition, but it was good enough for me to locate the first cache. I was about to head home when I decided to have a look for the second cache, as it didn't seem too far away. It was a little harder to locate, but I managed it.

 

What a great way to spend an afternoon. It's very exciting to know someone has hidden a cache nearby and searching and exploring to find it, and it's great fun to flick through the logbook to see what other people thought.

 

I'm glad I stumbled across this, and the next day off I get, I'm gonna travel a bit further a field and really explore for the next cache.
