+twistyipper
Will a garmin 60csx change the time to reflect a different time zone as one crosses into that zone? or does one have to manually change the time as he crosses the country? Quote Link to comment
+GPSlug
It's manual. (menu, menu, setup, time IIRC) Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Manual - but I have always thought that it should somehow be built in - at least as a prompted option. Quote Link to comment

On the POI Factory website there are POI files available for download that individuals have created to give proximity alarms when getting close to time zone boundaries in the continental U.S. The POIs are mostly on US and some state highways. That's actually a lot more difficult than it sounds. Time zone boundaries, especially outside of the US, are often far from straight which would make any kind of simple look up table to decide which side of a time zone you were useless. Take Spain and Portugal for example which are in different time zones and have a very "wiggly" border. Also if you were walking close to a time zone boundary you'd get pretty fed up of it prompting you all the time as you criss-crossed in and out of one and into another. Quote Link to comment
