Had a customer come in yesterday w/same problem. Explorist group on Yahoo refered to a Russian site that no longer appears to have the map there. Should be available for free from Magellan website. Should be available for free from Magellan website. *Should* be, but isn't. And it appears that the Magellan lawyers prevailed upon the Russian group after many years. Like Blanche DuBois, people must rely upon the kindness of strangers... All Explorist owners should back up their basemap to computer so if they ever need a replacement they'll have one. One the Explorist quirks is the tendency to blow out their basemaps. Quote Link to comment

Thanks I was able to track down a map and reload it - (thanks to people on this site - many thanks) the russian site was helpful with the advanced features of my Gps. As I found out reading many sites - it is not uncommon to have this gps just lose its maps If you have this type I suggest you back up your base map ASAP and save in a safe place.
