+AtwellFamily
I am traveling on business and just realized my garming doesn't have maps for the UK. Any suggestions on where to get some quickly and cheaply, don't know if I'll be returning? Help!!!!! Quote Link to comment
+fratermus
I would consider these, dpending on your requirements: * buying a new or used copy of MetroGuide Europe or similar. Resell after your return (be sure to ininstall/delete all maps) * find freebie uk maps on mapcenter. * snag the routeable european basemap off garmin that was intended for use in another GPSr. Some assembly required. +Crid
If you don't need the maps to be routeable, the Open Street Map (www.openstreetmap.org) project might be of use to you. There's a utility to create (non-routeable) Garmin IMG files from OSM data. A page containing some IMG files that other people have already built can be found here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/OS...Garmin/Download I regularly use OSM maps on my 76CSx when geocaching and I also contribute to OSM by tracking and adding roads, paths, etc that aren't currently on their map.
