routes to gps

hey all, I just found a new website for maping, www.mapmyride.com. It is actually for cyclelist but I am using it to map routes for jetsking. You can save the files in many diferant formats including gpx. My question is how do I send the file to my garmin etrax legend.

Cable your GPSr to the PC.

 

Download the .gpx to your PC.

 

Open the .gpx in your favorite software (mapsource, easygps, etc).

 

Press "upload" or similar button.

Better is subjective, although I do have a preference for EasyGPS.

 

EasyGPS is free. Mapsource may or may not have come "free" bundled with your GPSr. There are many other apps out there. A good, fierce googling session should reveal them (assuming the link trail I provide above does not).

how come easygps will only let me send it as a track and not a route?

The likeliest explanation is that the .gpx contains a track, and not a route.
