parrisw Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Hey I just starting Geocashing this week, got a few under my belt. I just bought a Legend HCX this week too. I really like it, most of the time it will leterally lead me to within a few feet of the cache. But I noticed one thing, that the WAAS was disabled when I bought it, so I enabled it, and today turned it on and it was disabled again?? Whats with that?? So far I really love this GPS though. Quote
gallet Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 (edited) It's a bug that's been fixed with a firmware update. I think. Download the web updater. Edited August 30, 2007 by gallet Quote
SergZak Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Unless you absolutely need WAAS enabled all the time, I'd stay at your current v2.20 unit software until v2.40 (or whatever version is released after v2.30) is released. Be warned that v2.30 while correcting the WAAS bug adds it's own quirks. Have a read of the "Vista HCx mini review" thread for all the details. It's all in there... Quote
Rhialto Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 (edited) Hey SergZak you're talking the compass alert quirk? Since this is a Legend with no electornic compass, I don't see a problem. Anyway, next firmware should not be far... Edited August 31, 2007 by Rhialto Quote
SergZak Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 True, Rhialto...thanks for pointing that out. Quote
