Problem loading map to eXplorist 500

I have a problem loading a detail map from Mapsend to my eXplorist SD card. I'm following the instructions and this is what I do:

 

- I save the the MapSend map region to my hard drive

- I upload it to my SD card via Magellan Conversion Manager

 

It starts up and locks up for a while and this is the error message I get:

"The specified I/O operation on \Device\Harddisk1\DR12 was not completed before the time-out period expired."

 

When I cancel operation I get the following error:

"An error occured while copying file C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend Topo 3D USA\Export\Images\Missouri.imi."

 

Any ideas? I have uploaded detailed maps once before without a problem.

Sounds like you're going through the right steps. I would try compiling another detail map file from scratch and see if you have better luck. It's not outside the realm of possibility that the one you are working with became corrupted in some manner along the way.

 

A second possiblity is some problem with the card. If you have another to try, you can rule that in or out.
